Range for Nifty: 4970 - 5230

Nifty itself is showing strength to go up. However, the upmove will be limited due to uncertainty in developed countries and probable advent of bad news from eurozone.

Thus it is safe to intiate position near the lower and upper ranges.

When the Nifty is trading in a zone of 5500 on lower end and 5700 on higher end and now it trades near lower end, I would suggest to buy for 5700 Call. The 5500 put writing also support the play.
However, it is suggested that either you gain or lose completely in your play for this series, thus with no stoploss. Still, you play safe with a stoploss 5480. You initiate your trade prefereably at the time of Nifty trading near 5520 level to pay out your premium low.

It is not likely that market will be in a mode of "sell off", thus breaking down of Nifty below 5100 level is unlikely.
The range will be still valid for 5325 - 5600. The play will be for small gain and on either side. On normal trading days, you play with negative bias and watch out for pull back to play other trade.
Any Long trade should be wind up once nifty breaks 5325 on spot.

       "NIFTY RANGE : 5100 - 5700".
A little tight range for Nifty would be 5200-5600.
Threat persists to break 5100 downward this time. Thus it is safe to play with downward bias. Go for Bear Spread.
Care: After 9 days falls in a line, 1-2 days pull back is most warranted. Expect this before going for the above strategy.

For Nifty, Say Selling Nifty 5400 Call and Put, may give you an advantage to your trading activities.

BUY Nifty 5200 or 5300 PUT on a rising market.
When nifty trading in between 5200 to 5300 range in the month of sept or later part of Aug, liquidate it.
(Possibility is high, Nifty to drift down to 5200 level in Sept. Do not get dishearten if nifty trades above 5500 in Aug. Hold it. If it is a wrong call, you will not lose more, except the premium amount.)
Another safe strategy is to play a bear spread:
Buy 1 lot Nifty 5500 Put
and
Sell 2 lots of Nifty 5300...
